Intro
I started this project as a thesis that one person, with the help of current AI tools, could work on a problem from first principles through design and development, ultimately to go to market.
If you work in software development, you realize that this normally requires a broad range of skills and potentially people. One person can do it, but it is REALLY hard.
My hypothesis is that current AI tools are good enough to bridge the skills gap, or at least point me in the right direction.
Ground Rules
Work out in the open. When possible, I will show my work, and hopefully you can repeat it with similar output.
A $50 development budget. I will leverage free tools whenever possible.
Not a real product. This project is an example and I do NOT intend to launch
Why
I started project Maestro because I want to learn and demonstrate the level of sophistication of current AI tools. I am working in the open because I want to encourage others to experiment, and I want everyone to see the good and bad of current generation AI tools.
I set a $50 budget because honestly many of these tools are free or very inexpensive. I also wanted to set up guard rails on R&D, and $50 is reasonable since I won’t staff engineers to build it.
Finally, this isn’t a real product because this is a learning exercise and I want to freely share details without fear of exposing proprietary information. Also, I want to make it clear that there are plenty of problems to solve, don’t get hung up on this one single idea.
